Smooth translation: |
Attention, angry baby!
Oh dear, what happened? Yesterday a young girl came to our pretty home to watch
over the baby. She did what she could to entertain the child: she played with
him, sang songs to him, etc. But despite that, the baby attacked her, tore here
apart, devoured her, and threw the remains out of the window.
What to do? What to do? I don't know, and for now I conceal the affair, lest the
police will ask annoying questions. |

Grammar notes |
The noun has only one inflection: the plural, formed with the suffix -s (-es
after sibilants: s, z, tz, cj, dj, gj, tj). There are two genders: masculine and
feminine. Adjectives agree with the noun in number; the plural is formed as for
nouns. The suffix -méntz is used to derive adverbs.
Verbs: the 3rd person singular of the past definite tense is formed by clipping
the final -r from the infinitive; the 1st person singular of the present tense
by clipping the -r and the preceding vowel. The 3rd person singular imperfect
has the ending -b. The 3rd person conditional has the ending -assez. Other
finite verb forms do not appear in the relay text.
Word order is SVO in main clauses, but SOV in subclauses, as in German. |
